Does anyone know how to prevent the Create Feature Dialog from automatically opening ever time you start an edit session in ArcMap 10?

I just read this "FIX" that I will be implementing also from the mailing list

A lot of people are having this problem.  Listen up ESRI.  It is not
ready for prime time!
Solution/work around works great.

1. Close all arcmap/arccatalog sessions
2. C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Utilities or wherever your Arc 10
software is installed.  Run AdvancedArcMapSettings.exe and uncheck
"Create Features using Templates" on the "Editor" tab. Apply changes and
close.
3. You will now have editing the old 9.3 way.

aurorageomatics,

It's nice to know that functionality exists should we want to revert back to ArcMap 9.x style editing.  Unfortunately it doesn't answer the initial question.

90+% of the time I am in an editing session I am _not_ creating new features.

Perhaps ESRI will allow us more control if the editing environment in 10.1......

I agree, I also have the same issue.  I feel that perhaps ESRI is forcing change on us to "do" GIS their way, whether or not it is more efficient or not. Perhaps with a new version efficiencies will be added to "Their" way of GIS?  Kinda Two steps forward, one step sideways and a step back ^_^
