How to read 16 bit IKONONOS imagery?

Hi,

I have received four raster files (geotiff, 16 bit Ikonos Imagery), but when I try to open the files in ArcGIS 9.3 I only get some black squares on my screen. Do I need an extension / add-on in order to get the files to display properly?

Kjetil,

You need to calculate statistics for your 16 bit imagery to display it properly. Use the calculate statistics geoprocessing tool. That should solve it.

In Addition:

A dynamic percentage stretch of 0.1% each side will do a good job since it "eliminates" vast areas of the 16 bit that are not used
