Hello,
I have an ortho image in NAD83 UTM Zone 10.
The majority of my project data, and data frame, are NAD83 State Plane Oregon North.
My ortho is being projected on-the-fly.
I have a scan of a historic aerial photo. I use the ortho image to find control points to georeference the aerial photo. The image is rectified to NAD83 State Plane Oregon North.
Help files suggest on-the-fly projection should be used for "display and query only" and that when georeferencing, the existing spatial (target) data (in this case my ortho) should reside in the desired map coordinate system.
So this is my question: does it make a difference, at all, that the source for the control points (the ortho) is being projected on-the-fly? What are best practices regarding this?
Regards,
Kathryn
