Georeferencing CAD files in ArcGIS Desktop

Hi,

I am trying to georeference CAD layouts in ArcGIS desktop using the method described in its help module. I need to confirm if I could use more than two control points to georeference CAD files. My CAD layouts represent a long track (>10 kms) and hence I need more point of control for accurate georeferencing.

The best way to do this is to import the CAD files into a geodatabase then use the spatial adjustment tools (Spatial Adjustment) menu. You are correct; working with the CAD file itself you will only have 2 control points.
