GDAL in ArcGIS Server x64

Since ArcGIS Server is now 64bit does this also affect the ESRI GDAL implementation?
For ArcGIS 10 it was no problem to use our custom GDAL driver on ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server.

Esri GDAL has been engineered to be able to run in 64bit machine.
