File Geodatabase cannot delete certain feature datasets

I have a 9.3.1 file geodatabase with several feature datasets that I cannot delete. I can delete some of the feature datasets, but I cannot delete others - the ones I cannot delete happen to be water, sewer, and stormwater datasets.

The original data came from an enterprise ArcSDE / SQL Server 9.1 geodatabase. I am pretty sure that I just copied all of the datasets from the enterprise geodatabase to the file geodatabase.

I actually can delete all of the feature datasets if I am using an ArcInfo license. If I am using an ArcView license I can only delete some of the feature datasets, and I cannot delete the ones I mentioned above. Can someone explain this?

Thanks.

Will

Hi. I ran into that problem too. And after days of searching I finally found this software: Long Path File Tool.

It's GREAT. You can find it here:

I'm not absolutely certain of this but I think you may be experiencing an OWNER issue. When data is created in an SDE, the OWNER has permissions that are different from an EDITOR.
