When I create annotation for a feature using 'Annotate Selected Feature', the source data shows up blank. For instance, the expression for the annotation subtype I used is
[DIAMETER] & "" "& [Material] & " " & "COND NO" & [COND_NUM], so the annotation for this feature should have been 18" STL COND NO 304, but what actually showed up was " COND NO .
All of the source fields were entered, but the annotation still acts as if they were empty.
If I edit any source attribute, the annotation shows up correctly. Then I can change the value back, and the annotation will be correct. It's as if the data wasn't being read in when the annotation is created. This happens for every feature I have tried in the feature class. The database is stored in Oracle 10G, and I am running ArcGIS 9.3.1.
