Our planning department is in the process of moving our GIS mapping functions to ESRI ArcGIS. Previously, all mapping was done in MicroStation; then ported to ARC. They have a routine that now exports all mapping to DGN format. However, all line work comes back as complex chains with segmented lines, not lines and arcs.
By this (as an example), our original right-of-way lines were one continuous line between intersections; lot lines intersect the ROW. When the exported DGN comes back, the ROW line is a combination of line segments broken at each lot line.
Is anyone familiar with exporting ESRI data into DGN format? If so, is what we are seeing normal or is there some other functionality possible that when exported, all line work would be similar to what we are accustomed to?
