Editing Annotation Layers

Hi All,

I'm trying to change the text of a single label in an annotation feature class.  When I start editing and select the label, the Attributes window opens but is blank.  I cannot figure out why I am unable to change the text string of this feature linked label.  Please help...

Hi Mike,

In ArcGIS 10, there is another tool on the Editor toolbar - Edit Annotation tool which should be used for selecting annotations.

I was trying to use the Edit Annotation tool unsuccessfully, until I figured out that you have to create a selection of the labels you wish to change before you begin your editing session.
