Default value for required field with a domain

I have a field which does not Allow Null and which uses a coded domain. When this field appears in my form in Field Maps, the software seems to choose the first entry from the domain as the default value, which is not the desired behavior -- I would rather have the field appear empty before a value is chosen. How can I accomplish this?

I see that in the Field Maps Web app in the Template section you can choose a default value of "Not selected".
