Attributtable change data type is not possible

Dear Community,

i want to change my data type for example into dates...but it is not possible because if i click on the properties there is no field tap. Why not? Ive got two standalone tables and a Feature Class in a File Geodatabase and i want to connect them but i need a different data type.

My Version 10.8.1

You can't alter a field's properties once there is data in the table, you have to add a new field and calculate values in the new format from values in the old column.

Thats what i also try yesterday than it works, but i thought that there is maybe also an option in the properties because its written also here
