I am trying to compress my geodatabase however when I attempt to do it I get the following error: "ERROR 999999: Error executing function" and then it goes on to say that the geodatabase is open in ArcMap on my computer when it is not.
Is the file geodatabase on a network drive and being accessed by another machine? If its in dropbox try moving it out of that and compress that version.
How are you attempting to compress it? From a script or from ArcCatalog, if ArcMap is not open?
