Hi there,

So, I essentially have a map of Greenland, which I have created and there are bodies of water underneath which i want to clip (so i want my map to be my square polygon of the land with some bodies of water 'cut out' essentially)

But i create my polygons along the bodies of water, and this error appears. I've checked other boards and i save my edits, I try and put everything in the same folder etc, nothing seems to help.

)this is university level stuff so not too complicated but i am very confused how to 'cut out' my polygons.)

any help is appreciated.

Hi!

Would you post screenshots of the tool settings and what the polygon overlay looks like on your screen?

Hi, yep, here you go! i want my final product to look like the yellow, but i need to remove lakes, as i really am just focusing on the land terrain if that makes sense? i will eventually be calculating NDVI.

I just want to work out how to cut the bodies of water i dont want there out. apparently to do this, i have to use a polygon, but it wont let me clip it.

Extract by polygon.... there is a keep inside and keep outside option

You need the Spatial analyst extension however,

Extract by Polygon (Spatial Analyst)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

Extraction by attribute, shape, or location—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

... sort of retired...
