Changing visible scale of mosaic dataset

I have created a mosaic dataset consisting of multiple TIF images covering the extent of our county's borders.  The images from the mosaic will display at a scale of approximately 1:2000 or more but I would like for them to display at a smaller scale--say, 1:10,000--so more geographic area is visible.  There must be a way to do this.  Any ideas please?

Greetings,

Probably the best way to do this is to build overviews on the mosaic dataset. This might take some time but will give you the display performance you expect.
Some of the help documentation might help:
General info about this mosaic dataset: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/What_is_a_mosaic_dataset/009t000000370...
Workflows how to create them: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/The_workflow_and_tools_to_create_mosai...
A topic specifically about building overviews: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/Mosaic_dataset_overviews/009t000000400...
Enjoy!
