Dear ESRI-community,
I am quite new to ArcGIS and it might be I haven't yet explored all functions, but I think I've got a serious problem:
I am working with EUMETSAT's NDVI data in HDF5-format. ArcGIS is able to load hdf5 data well, but the problem is that there is no spatial reference given from EUMETSAT in the hdf5-file. I know that the data are projected in the geostationary satellite projection (SR-ORG Projection 81) and I would like to assign this projection to the image, so that I can use functions as "intersection" with another layer, that is georeferenced.
Georeferencing "by hand" (with ground control points) is only a mean method, because the NDVI-file does not contain borders.
Can anyone tell me how/if it is still possible to assign this projection to the image even though ArcGIS unfortunately doesn't know it ? 😞 I have already tried to implement it manually, but ArcGIS didn't understand it (!?).
Thanks in advance,
Johannes
