Hi,

I did geocoding in ArcGIS ArcView 10, using ArcGIS Online Locators.  The output gives the matching address, but not the lat/long.

But at the same it did the same in ArcInfo 10, it returned the lat, long.

Is it because of the license difference ,i am not getting the lat, long.  Or i am missing any config.?

Hello,

License levels do not have anything to do with the geocoding process. I tested at both ArcInfo and ArcView license levels using the same address table and received XY coordinates both times for the outputs. If you are using the 10.0 or 9.3.1 North America Geocode Service in ArcMap 10, then it should return the XY coordinates for the output.

However, the XY coordinates will not automatically be returned when using the 10.0 or 9.3.1 U.S. Streets Geocode Service. I am not sure the reason why this is, but it has to do with how the locator was designed.

In that case you could use the Add XY Coordinates tool from ArcToolbox to populate that geocode result with the XY coordinates.

I hope this helps you out.

Thank you.
