Hello, I ran into the same issue using the SYS user in the database. And I know very little about the inner workings of Oracle. while I agree that the ideas suggest would be helpful - they do not help me solve the issue. Any comments on how to solve this? thanks rica
Found an answer ... As with most issues in ArcCatalog you need to re-launch the ArcCatalog session. Apparently in 10.1, if you tried to create the SDE enterprise geodatabase and for some reason have to re-run this geoprocessing tool, and recreate the master geodatabase, you must restart ArcCatalog.
