ArcGIS basemap and shapefiles to CAD

Hi,

I have a georeferenced basemap and a few shapefiles (point and line) which I will be needed in CAD. Do I need to export them in any particular format or can I simply have them as a georeferenced tiff and point&polyline/polygon shapefiles?

What version of AutoCAD do you have?  If you have Map 3D then you can link to rasters and shapefiles directly via the FDO connection.  (Other versions may be able to as well but I only know about Map 3D.)  Another option for shapefiles is to use AutoCAD's import tool to turn them into attributed blocks.
