Colleagues;

Here is a simple question that I hope someone can help, because the documentation is very scarce:

We're working with ArcSDE 9.3 with many geodatabases, each one with dozens of users that, eventually, need to create an address locator. But because the number of users it's impracticable to copy the rules (.mat, .cls, .dct [...]) to all of them.

How can I store an address locator style in SDE so it is available to all users without the need of copying the rules files to each machine?

Any aid will be appreciated.

Dear Colleagues;

I finally find the answer for this question. Esri have discontinued the server-side geocoding via ArcSDE in version 10.
Thus, the geocoding service can be made by ArcGIS Server.

Unfortunately, I return to the issue reported at:

If anyone could help, will be appreciated;
Thanks in advance

Hi,
When sharing an address locator in an ArcSDE database, make sure your users have SELECT privileges for all feature datasets, stand alone feature classes and tables associated with your address locator. Please refer to the following web-help article:

Making your address locator public

Thanks for your reply. I've executed the sdetable -o grant command, I was granted privileges by catalog and windows, but it didn't work. On my local machine the address locator works fine. But when accessing the locator on the server (that doesn't have the rules files) it cannot read the mat file that is loaded in SDE. Looks like it search the rules in the system folders and not in the SDE...

If you (or anyone) can return any feddback, I'll be glad.
Thanks in advance
