If I add a layer that has representations that is stored in sql server 2005 to ArcMap, by default the representation is displayed automatically. If I add a layer that has representations that is stored in sql server 2008 r2, by default the representations are not being displayed as expected and only showing simple symbol.
Hi Ted, At this time, sql server 2008 r2 is in 'community tech preview' as you're probably aware. As such, the 9.4 release is not certified with this version. Once the 9.4 release is certified against the R2 version, this issue will be revisited.
Just figured you would want to know. Clearly if these things are found today then it will be less work in the future for esri to at least know the limitations.
