Hallo to everyone.

I have read that changes directly in the *.dbf of the shapefiles could damage the shapefile and in deed I tried it (with libre office) and I get some problems. Anyway, my goal is to change whole columns of the attributable by replacing contents which already exist in a excel file (with the same number of rows and the same order of course), e.q. by a method like copy and paste.

Unfortunately I didn’t find any advice how to realize it without open the *.dbf directly.

Thanks so much for any support.

Andreas

Check Join Field. In case it doesn't accept the Excel sheet for Join Table, you might want to use it as a CSV or convert it to a table Excel to Table.
