Add Products, Industry, etc dropdowns to the ArcGIS Ideas tab
As it currently stands, when you click on the "ArcGIS Ideas" tab at the top of this site, it takes you to a general page with all Ideas.
To find the board you're searching for, you either have hope that it's in the "Recent Activity" section,
or page through all the product pages, which are sorted by last activity by default-- not even alphabetical as an option? Which is weird.
The alternative is to hit the "All communities" tab instead, go to the page you want ("ArcGIS Pro"), and then go to the Ideas board for that product from there.
What I'd like instead is to be able to use that handy dropdown from the "All Communities" tab in the "ArcGIS Ideas" tab, so that I can go directly to the board I want.
Are you proposing this as an alternative to going to the destination community first, then selecting Ideas?
Hi @AlfredBaldenweck, to add onto Dan's suggestion, there's an even (I find) easier method that uses the general search field. You can enter the product name for the Ideas Board you're looking for, then, once the search results populate, you can filter your search by "Places." This will bring up a selection of Places and Boards that are a best match, including the relevant Ideas Board. This .gif shows a search for the Place level, but illustrates the same process as the ArcGIS Pro Ideas Board is included in the same results and/or easily accessed via the ArcGIS Pro Place.
I'm going to close this idea since there is a simple way of achieving the end result you're looking for, but do let me know if this doesn't meet your needs and you'd still prefer to advocate for a different method.
