Sometimes I write a post and I have parenthetical thoughts that are still relevant but not necessarily the point of that part of the post, e.g. a reference to another Idea that is tangentally related.
My options are to either put them in parentheses or dashes or something OR I can star them like this* and then write the thought out below the rest of the post (See below). My rule of thumb is that if it's longer than a two-clause sentence, it gets starred.
The issue is that sometimes, as I write and rewrite these posts, I end up adding more parenthetical thoughts below or above the first one, and then below or above that one, and on and on. This makes it really hard to keep track of which one gets which number of stars.
I'd like a real footnote system that would allow the computer to worry about keeping track of the order so I don't have to.
* This is a parenthetical thought. Still important, just not the main point.
