When I look at someone's profile page, there's a section for Recent Contributions. It would appear that this section is just showing "Recent Activity" on any post that I am involved in. The thing is, this area doesn't show the user related to the post, so there is an implication that the items in this space are all authored by the user whose page you're visiting.
I'd post a picture of it, but I hit my 1000 image quota. 🤔
We're looking into that 1k image quota and hope to have a solution and/or answer soon. Thanks for your patience on that! An aside ... I feel like there should be a loud pop and confetti should come snowing down from the ceiling the moment someone hits 1,000 images shared in Community. Perhaps the doorbell rings and there's a chilled bottle of champagne waiting out front? Future feature possibilities. 🍾❤️
I was just trying to track down the issue you're describing. If I've understood correctly, I was able to replicate it when filtering latest contributions by "Participated In," but the default "Contributions" filter appeared to show only previews of posts (including threaded response posts) written by the author.
Are you seeing something different when filtering by Contributions or have I misunderstood what you're referring to?
I think you've understood it correctly. I guess for me, the heading of the section is a bit misleading. It says it's contributions "by jcarlson", and by omitting the author of the post, it sort of implies that these things really are mine. When I look at that view, I see your post listed, but nothing says you wrote it. Left to my own assumptions, I would think that I was the author until clicking through and seeing that it was actually you.
Obviously with my own profile, I know it wasn't me. But if I view someone else's profile, I don't really know what's theirs or not. If I go to your profile after clicking Reply, I will see this very post listed under contributions "by JesseCloutier".
Oh look! I can post an image!
Anyway, it seems to me that this is really a "latest activity somehow related to jcarlson" section, and that drop down is "by anyone" and "by jcarlson specifically".
At the very least, I would default the view to the "by jcarlson specifically", but ideally, the section header would change to avoid misleading other users.
Should I suggest this header change as an Idea?
I see your point, Josh, and we're exploring what might be possible. No need to add an Idea at this point.
Do you have any thoughts on what could make for a better title ("Latest Contributions by ______" currently) and/or more suitable filter option names ("Participated In," "Contributions," "Archived Topics") we can keep in mind while we dig into this further?
