Does anybody else get this error from the Esri Community website in Chrome?

This page isn't working

community.esri.com redirected you too many times.

Try clearing your cookies.

It happens about once per week for me.
Clearing cookies solves it. So it's not a huge deal, just inconvenient.

Does anyone else get that error? I don't get it for any other websites. Just the Esri Community.

Chrome Version 103.0.5060.53 (Official Build) (64-bit). Windows 10.

FYI @MFazio, if you use Chrome, you can delete only community.esri.com and esri.com cookies by clicking on the lock next to the url (in french but i'm sure you'll get it):

Still not ideal, but at least you don't lose everything for every website.

Yes, I've discovered that. However, as you say, still not ideal!

Hi @MFazio @Bud @mikaël

I just wanted to give you a quick update that we pushed a fix in production today.  If you see this issue again, please clear cache and cookies once, so it implements the new fixes and try again.  We are hopeful that users will not see this issue anymore. But if you see this issue again, could you please let me know. Thanks.

Hi!
This is still persistent for some pages:

https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/monitor/administration/whats-new-in-arcgis-monitor-2024-1/

These are just two examples. Have tried in Edge, Brave & Chrome and is getting the "www.esri.com redirected you too many times"-error in all. Don't want any suggestions on clearing cookies, thank you very much.

Marcus

@MarcusAndersson, am I right in understanding that you believe you're seeing a pattern when it comes to being 'redirected too many times'—that it consistently happens to you on some pages but not others?

Hi @JesseCloutier,

Yes, and it's been going on for at least two years I'd say. Lately I've not frequented esri.com that much for various reasons but I probably will be here more again, at least for a while.
I can collect the various pages I find that gives me this error and post them here?

See now that someone has fixed the two links I provided above btw, thanks for that 🙂

BR,
Marcus

@MarcusAndersson, after having brought this to our Community Operations Manager and some subsequent conversation with Esri's IST team, the conclusion—based on the links your provided as examples—are that the "redirected too many times" issue you've experienced isn't specifically related to Esri Community even though this thread you've posted on was for a similar issue we'd tackled in the past. For help with the experience you're reporting, please open up a support ticket with your distributor so that the best-equipped team members can assist with next steps.

Hi @JesseCloutier,

Ok, thanks. That it did not work in either Chrome, Edge or Brave from a PC, and also not in Safari, Edge & Chrome from iPhone and Android suggested otherwise.

BR,
Marcus

I don't mean to suggest that there isn't an Esri connection, @MarcusAndersson. It's possible that's the case. Esri Community is its own system that's separate from esri.com, ArcGIS Online, and My Esri. Because the two link examples you had provided are from outside of Esri Community, that suggests to us that the issue you experienced isn't the result of something caused by the Esri Community platform. That's why we've asked you to open a ticket through your distributor for further assistance. All the best!

I have a similar bug where I can't log in to community.esri.com with my GitHub linked account; the system will say sign-out successful when I try to enter from esri.com or arcgis.com and I get a blank screen when I sign in directly from community.esri.com. My non-github account works fine.
