Enable Peer Recommendations for Community Member Contributions

The ArcGIS Community thrives on the expertise and generosity of its members, yet today there is no formal way to recommend or endorse fellow community members for their sustained, high-quality contributions beyond individual likes or accepted solutions. Valuable contributors often help across many threads, blogs, and ideas, but their broader impact is not easily visible or recognized.

I propose adding a Peer Recommendation feature that allows community members to formally recommend others for their contributions—such as technical expertise, thought leadership, mentorship, or consistent community support. These recommendations could appear on member profiles as curated endorsements (with moderation safeguards), helping highlight trusted voices, encourage positive participation, and strengthen the sense of professional recognition within the ArcGIS Community. This would elevate community engagement while reinforcing a culture of appreciation and peer-driven excellence.

Venkat

Hi @VenkataKondepati, I moved this post and a couple of your others from the My Esri Ideas board over to our Community Feedback board. Community Feedback is our location for input or suggestions specifically related to our Esri Community platform.

To your point, while we do have a way for individuals to nominate their peers in Esri Community to be considered for the Esri Community MVP Program and we run our annual Community Contest (which is heavily analytics based) to identify top contributors, we don't currently have a user-powered system for awarding appreciation badges or otherwise calling attention to someone's impact. It's an idea we'll have to keep in mind—thanks for letting us know it's something you'd like to see.
