If I want to create a hyperlink in a community post, I click the hyperlink button in the toolbar to enter the hyperlink details:

That process is manageable. But I'm curious, are there any alternative ways to create a hyperlink that might involve less clicks? Maybe just use the keyboard instead of the mouse?

It looks like we can just select the text and hit paste. Instead of replacing the text with the URL, the text gets  automatically converted to a hyperlink, using the pasted URL.

Screen recording:

paste url into text as hyperlink.gif

Steps:

  1. Copy the URL to the clipboard.
  2. Select the following text:
“Select By Location” Feature Layer — Spatial query that is fast, modifiable, and refreshable
  3. Hit paste.

Result:

“Select By Location” Feature Layer — Spatial query that is fast, modifiable, and refreshable
