The value: Members may find they would like to remove a post they had authored so that it’s no longer public. This could be because the post’s content is no longer relevant, they accidentally published the same post more than once, or for other reasons. To prevent unintended loss of members’ posts, as well as protect long-term options for retrieval and reference, posts are archived rather than fully deleted and members must request help from the Esri Community team to complete this process.

How to do it: To request archival of your own authored post, email the Esri Community team at esricommunity@esri.com with the details and include a URL directly to the post. Alternately, members may use the Report Inappropriate Content feature on the relevant post, selecting “Something else” in the Reason field and supplying a short description of the reason why in the Details field. This will notify the Esri Community team of your request.

Keep in Mind:
Members with posts containing outdated information, misspellings, or other fixable errors may find editing their post is a better solution.

The Esri Community team reviews every piece of content before completing an archival request to determine its removal is appropriate in accordance with our Esri Community Guidelines and to mitigate impact on other members who have also participated in the content thread.

In uncommon cases and following careful consideration, the Esri Community team will delete a post rather than archive it when doing so is deemed important for purposes of security or where context otherwise warrants full removal. Those requesting full deletion of their post(s) should specify this as the course of action they’re pursuing and outline any relevant justification details during their outreach.
