I am new to the suite of business tools available through ESRI and was just wondering an easy description of the differences between Business Analyst and Community Analyst? It seems like they have a lot of similar capabilities so just wanted to see if I could get some clarification. Thanks

Hi Shawn,

From the Community Analyst FAQ,

A note about Community Analyst vs Business Analyst Online - Community Analyst and Business Analyst Online are very similar in terms of features and data. The data and features in the two products are organized a bit differently to better serve the different audiences and intended analysis goals of the products. Business Analyst Online is intended for commercial audiences focused primarily on site selection, whereas Community Analyst is focused on policy issues and enabling understanding of communities from a "social issues" perspective.

Hope this helps,

Hi Shawn,

Functionally Business Analyst Web App (formerly known as Business Analyst Online) and Community Analyst are identical - they have all the same features and included data. The primary difference is the audience and users of the products. Also, Business Analyst, in addition to being web-based, can be implemented in desktop, server, and mobile environments.

Hope this helps.

Thank you,

Praveen
