Does anyone know if a Story Map slider can be used with plain images (i.e. without using base maps, etc.)?  I have two images that I want to layer and use the slider affect with, but they don't correspond with a particular map.  Any help would be appreciated.

Yes!  That's exactly what I was looking for.  Any ideas on how to achieve this affect?

Yes, I know how to do it :). For example you can use http://blogvio.com/ as it was used in that story map. You have to create that widget with your photos (it's very simple). The widget you create get ID number. In the Map Tour template you choose video as a media and write the url address: http://blogvio.com/api/v1/embeds/your widget ID numberr#isvideo. That's all 🙂

Hi Daniel
Thanks.
And thanks also for tweeting this fantastic example from Esri Poland:

A tip for this sort of map tour: I think it's best to use the three panel layout, like the one above does, where the media is over on the left rather than on the right, because in that layout the caption appears underneath the media in a separate area rather than on top of the media.
