I'm working on a spyglass story map similar to the new york one http://story.maps.arcgis.com/apps/StorytellingSwipe/index.html?appid=97ae55e015774b7ea89fd0a52ca551c... . I have been having trouble adding the picture of the old map as a layer. Does anyone know what kind of file they used, or how i could add it? Any help would be appreciated!
The spyglass app only works with regular GIS layer so if you just have an image, you will need to convert the image to a GIS layer. You would typically do that in ArcGIS Desktop using the georeferencing tools ArcGIS Help 10.1 - Georeferencing tools or Georeferencing an image in ArcGIS | Columbia University Libraries
Then create a webmap with that layer and creating your spyglass will be straightforward.
Okay! Thank you!
