Hello AR people,

Problem - "Add Error Layers" option is not available to evaluate validation rules on feature service on ArcGIS Pro 3.0. I created validation rules for feature class in Enterprise GDB, and then published as editable feature service (Branch versioned). I added the published feature service into ArcGIS Pro, but the "Add Error Layers" option is greyed out and not available, i.e. I cannot use Error Inspector to run the validation rule evaluation.

If I use data in FGDB and it works fine. I don't know if this is a bug or I went through wrong steps. I published data including error layers (i.e. Validation Line Errors, etc.) with table of Validation Object Errors.

I cannot find any resources that instruct how to use validation rules on feature service. Does anyone know how to set this up?

Thanks in advance,

It looks as this may be a defect, the check to show the validation capability isn’t checking annotation layers so if anno is the only layer in the map the checkbox doesn’t show.

If you have an additional layer with annotation being published that should work though.

Hi JS_Esri,

I have included an additional layer on the map along with the annotation layers but it still did not work unfortunately. This may be a defect like you said. If so, really hope ESRI to solve this problem...

Just for troubleshooting purposes, can you add to a brand new map and non-annotation feature with validation rules applied to it. Do you get the validation check box then?

Yes, the validation check box came out when I used non-annotation features with validation rules applied - please see below.

Hi JS_Esri,

Based on the trouble shooting, It seems like if annotation layers are included in a map, the validation check box is unavailable when sharing as a service. Do you know how to report to ESRI about this problem?

The Request Case link on My Esri opens a web form after you sign in. On the form, you can describe the issue and identify the software you are using. Support cases can be opened from the Support page on My Esri where all support resources are available in one place.
