I heard about an arcscript for arcreader 9.3 that would show your location on the map based on a gps connected to the laptop. Does anyone know where i can find one for version 10? Are arc scripts still being used for version 10?

I'm trying to work with our dredging and survey teams. The dredge crew has no idea where they are in respect to the surveyed points. So we've created a ArcReader project for them with a GPS input and display. The problem is I can't put the GPS on the dredge header because it will get too wet. If I put on one of the pontoons the dredgers can't tell when they are outside the boundary with the other pontoon. So if I can put a GPS on each pontoon this will solve my problem. If you have any other suggestions please let me know.

What file in the code to I need to comment the line out?

I have not been able to comment out the code and compile the application because I don't have vb. Is there another way to test this or comment out the code? Or anyway I could get you to comment out the code for me to test?

Hi Mark,
I install, make a tool and add GPS Layer but am then unable to save my mxd and ArcMap crashes everytime I try and publish it. Have you heard of this happening?

cheers,
Leon.

has anybody changed the symbol for this (pierssen script.) I followed the direction and got it to work
but it was to small on the screen.
when I load the new symbol you don't have any control on selecting the size of it
