I create shapefiles in ArcMap for capturing point data on a Trimble Nomad with ArcPad. I set up fields specific to the type of data I will record in the field, and not all fields will necessarily require a value (either text or numeric) at each location. I recently installed ArcPad 10 on the Trimble and for all the fields I've set up, a value is required. I didn't have this problem with earlier versions of ArcPad. Is there a way to change this so that all field don't always require value?

Yes, you need to access ArcStudio, and open the .apl file and double click on the edit form, that should pull up the form in a new window.  Double click the fields within your form in which you want to alter the properties of.  You should see some field properties, look for "Required" if it's checked, un-check it.  Do the remaining fields, hit ok, open them in ArcPad and see if the properties held.  Hope this helps.
