I'm doing some contract work for an organization that is struggling to use its large investment of a Trimble with ArcPAD and ArcGIS.

We need to start over. The Trimble has hundreds of files from ArcPad 8.0 that are either blank maps, "test" points, and various other useless information.

How can I effectively move all the ArcPad associated files off the Trimble?

More over, is there a way I can move all the ArcPad files to the SD card, remove the SD card, and access those files from any work sstation with ArcGIS?

Hello,

If you have Windows Mobile Device Centre installed on your desktop then you should be able to create a connection with your Trimble Device by plugging it into your PC via USB.

Once your PC has recognized the device and created a partnership (should happen automatically), you will be able to browse all of the folders on the device using Windows Explorer. This will allow you to copy and move files around as you would from any local folder.

If you are still having issues - please refer to the Windows Mobile Device Center Help.

Thanks,

Hannah
