I am new to using ArcPad 10.0.  I am using ArcPad with a Trimble Recon unit.  I had everything set up and working first with a serial cable and then with blue tooth.  When I tried to convert back to the serial cable, I must have made an error.  Now I get the error "No data is being received from your GPS unit.  Check cable and configuration options.  I have tried getting ArcPad to work via bluetooth and the serial cables.

Your help will be very much appreciated. My husband and I are just starting this job-mapping rare and sensitive plants.  They are around for a very short period of time-some only identifiable for days.

Thank you!

Other notes
Activesync is on the trimble.  It is running in the background.  Does it need to be there when using Windows Mobile Device Center to communicate with the PC.  If not, how can I remove it.  Should I see a Windows Mobile Device program showing on the trimble.

I was able to solve my connection problem by changing the protocol from nmea to trimble gps correct.
