Installation of ArcPad Data Manager for ArcGIS

Previous to V10, the installation of ArcPad Data Manager was accomplished through its own separate install package.  Now the only way to install ArcPad Data Manager 10 is through the installation of ArcPad 10.  Is there a way, or has anyone figured out how to install, ArcPad Data Manager 10 by itself?

According to my notes, we've always had to install ArcPad in order to get ArcPad Data Manager.  From our "Steps for ArcGIS Server Build":
27. Install ArcPad Data Manager Toolbar

1. a. Run \\dnrgpoly03\Software$\ESRI\ArcPad v10\setup.exe


2. b. In the install wizard select the Install ArcPad option.


3. c. Ignore all the crap about Windows Mobile and ActiveSync etc.


4. d. Just go ahead and install, using all of the defaults.
