GPS collected features (Lines & Polygons) disappears after it is deselected

Our field users have been experiencing some problems during data collection.  After they complete the data entry and save that feature, it will display in the ArcPad data frame however if they deselect that feature it will disappear.  It does not get deleted because after they close out of ArcPad and go back in the feature is there.  We implement custom forms developed through ArcPad Studio and utilize GDB domains and subtypes to streamline work flow, but I have never seen this problem before. It also seems to be very intermittent and I have been able to duplicate the problem, but just can't seem to find a solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I would check the table of contents to make sure that feature is checked to display.

That was my first response when this problem presented itself, but unfortunately it is not that easy.  The data will be collecting and displaying fine then the next feature you collect will just disappear.  I originally thought it could be a problem with the domains/subtypes and the different symbology, but I've tested that and had no results.

I've run across a problem that sounds very similar to what you are describing.  I am using a file gdb with related tables, domains and custom forms, but no subtypes.  Did you ever come across a solution??  Thanks.

Hi Folks -- It's now a year and a half after this original post and I was wondering if a solution has been found.

I was GPSing some polygons today (stored in a personal geodatabase with domains) using ArcPad 10 on a Trimble GeoXH.  Immediatley after collecting the data things looked great, but then after the feature was deselected when collecting the next area the previous feature would disappear.  My polygons didn't reappear until I shut down ArcPad and re-opened the project.

This doesn't give one a great sense of confidence about their data collection.  Any feedback & suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Unfortunately, I still don't have an answer to this problem.

I have a similar problem - any word from ESRI on this?

No, I have not heard from ESRI.  Still, my only solution is to close ArcPad and then re-open the project.
