I have a points feature class for trail conditions that will be used in Arcpad 10 to collect where there may be debris or other issues that require repair or attention.  I also have a related table for the surface repair types that may be needed which will be a one to many as there may be more than  one type of issue such as a pothole and crack in the same GPS collected location.  The collector will go out in the field and record spots that have issues, since there is no real identifier other than the XY coordinates I'm having difficulty with how to relate the repair types table to the points where the issues rely feature class. I have been searching on this for Arcpad with no luck.  I have a short integer coded domain set for the surface repair type field with all the attributes that are listed in the image I attached.

When a point is collected in Arcpad and populates the XY, is there a way to auto populate the same XY coordinate in the related table so I can see how many issues are present?  It seems that if I have the collector input an ID number they will lose track of what number they were on or have duplicates and thus why I would like the XY to import to the related tables as well.

I finally exported it out to Arcpad and when I went in to enter a related table attribute the feature class ID carried over into the field so there was no need to worry about using an XY coordinate to "tie it all together".  I guess diving before looking can yield deep waters sometimes! 🙂
