I am creating a project from ArcMap 10.3.1. ArcPad Data Manager exports all the files but when I view the .apm in ArcPad the sid file (.jp2) won't display.
sid files would have a .sid extention.
Do you have the extension to allow JPEG2000 installed? I just did this the other day, so I'll get right back to you on this.
EDIT:
I had to do this since I no longer have tools for MrSid files. However, my current ArcPad (v7.1) setup is so customized right now I can't find the windo I need... but you need to make sure the extensions allow for jp2. I would look at
under Advanced, extensions. If you can see the jpeg2000 option is available/active, then it should be able to see the jp2. If it still doesn't see it, may need to re-work with it thru a mosaic dataset. You want to make sure that the coordinate system and projection is set, preferably to the that of the data you plan to collect, since the raster typically will not project-on-the-fly in ArcPad (maybe it can in 10.x?).
Hope that helps.
still not working. the below comment worked on the desktop but not on the Nomad. I proceeded to try again loaded the sid file and exported it to jp2 along with a couple of shp files. shp files showed up on the nomad but not the jp2.
Barry, I think I may have used Erdas as part of my process. It was only about 10 days ago (on a Sunday) that I was playing with this, and I started writing up documentation, but not sure I cleaned it up. But if it will help, I'll attach my rough draft of my doc. It might spark something to try.
Sorry I can't look to clean it up or verify it right now...on a short deadline, and running short on time before our field work.
Spoke to soon. ArcPad manager will not convert the sid over to .jp2 and load onto my Nomad.

Thanks for your help Rebecca, I checked ArcPad options and made sure that all the image formats were checked. Nothing worked. I tried one more time using the original format (sid). Now the dumb thing showed up. I didn't do anything any different. I will try some more and see what happens. Thanks again, Tucker, forester, US Army Corps of Eng. 502-624-1883. if you would like to call about this matter.
ArcPad struggles with rasters, and they have to be formatted just so. The most reliable way that I have found to prepare/convert rasters for ArcPad is to open them in ArcMap, right click on them in the table of contents, and under 'Output Raster' make sure that the 'Use Renderer' and 'Force RGB' options are toggled.
I'll have to try that at some point myself, vs the way I did it.
There is no such topic when I right click on the sid file. I checked a few old .mxds and tried making an .apm still no .jp2 file displays. it shows up in the folder that was created but arcpad will not display.
