Hello,

Can anyone tell me if it is feasible to install ArcPad on a Netbook (e.g. Acer Aspire One AOD255E 2GB 250GB W7S) to perform some geocoding tasks? We need to use/load our own locator files to do geocoding stuff.

Many thanks,
Jinfeng

We are using ArcPad on MSI and Toshiba netbooks without any problems. ArcPad is built to run on the Windows desktop. The netbooks run 1.6Ghz Atom processors. With Windows XP and Windows 7. You get more resources on the netbooks so things should run faster.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your information. Did you run geocoding using ArcPad with own locator files?

No, we have not. I do however have a street search function form I built with ArcPad Studio and VB Script. The streets layer has 20155 features and the searches are almost instant.
