Hi all,
I'm very new to all things Arc. I have successfully set up ArcGis server to deliver feature services and can package up a projected for viewing and editing in ArcPad 10.2. Changing data about features works very nicely!
However, I'm a bit lost when it comes to associating photos with features!
Ideally what I want to do, is on the ArcPad device select a feature, change some attributes, and add one or more photos. Then I want to sync back with the feature service and have the photos uploaded automatically via the feature service.
For now, I'm taking photos using the standard feature editing popup in ArcPad, which seems to only store the path to the image in a field in my feature (see pic below)
In order to get the image back in house, I have to take the ArcPad project folder, and check it in.
I followed this procedure to acheive that:
Sync with Feature Services in ArcPad 10.2 | ArcGIS Blog
While that works, I find it quite clunky. The photos are not stored in the database - they are stored as files on the network, with a reference to the file only in the database, and it involves an extra step to get the photos on the file system via Check In, rather than just sync with feature service.
Any tips or pointers so I can get ArcPad to sync multiple photos per feature through a feature service?
I hope I am making sense!
Many thanks
Nick
