I have point data > 6500 that is edited in ArcMap. For the field inspections using ArcPad 7.0.1 ; I have created actual photo images of all the signs (point data) for use in, field inspection for a quick "look and see" as the end user drives around. Problem is that every once in a while ArcPad will freeze up and then revert back to a default symbology. The size of the images are the smallest possible pixel and clarity without sacrificing clarity in readability. When it works ...it works great. When I exported from ArcMap I exported the styles file also and all symbology. Maybe I'm missing something? I have my data frame scale set to 1:1,500 for refresh rate and not to cloud the map when zoom extents. There is only two layers ..1) centerline 2) point data layer with the points as images for symbology. Obvioulsly the only layer that is being edited in the field is the point layer. Why would ArcPad default back to a simple round random color dot ? What would be the best format to be used as a photo to represent point data in ArcPad?
Thankyou
