I have built a wonderful form for weed data collection and have several of the fields set up with combo boxes.  While testing the forms I have found that the attributes from my combo boxes are not saving to the .dbf of the shapefile.  I'm sure its something really simple but I cannot seem to solve this problem.  I cannot spend any more time reading the forums to find my answer.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Older versions of ArcPad would not store an attribute unless the user tapped the enter key after filling out the entry. Perhaps the same problem exists with ArcPad 10.2?

Any answers or solutions to this? Seems like a pretty big problem. We are experiencing this too. It seems it is ok as long as only one feature is edited as soon as you go back to a feature after editing another one the fields are blank

If you're able to post a step-by-step process of what you're doing or give some screenshots, it would probably be easier for people to visualize the problem you're encountering.

Cheers.

This first image shows Page 1 of the form and input of information required.

The second image shows Page 2 of the form and the input of information required.

The third image is the attribute table, in ArcGIS, after the shapefile has been brought in.  Note that the only fields with attributes are those that were typed in and not those with comboboxes.

Thanks to anyone that has a suggestion.

Have you made sure the combo boxes are pointing to the fields in the shapefile?  It's the simplest solution to the problem, but without knowing your code, it would be my first question.

Agree with haagdj.

It's probably also worth a look at the Attributes tab of the form. If things don't look right there versus what you've entered in the comboboxes, it's definitely a sign that things are not right with the custom form design.

These two images show my combobox setting.  When I'm in ArcPad my list of roll numbers appears and I can select them but they do not save.  Your right Matthew, the attribute tab is showing null values...there's definitely something screwy with my form.

I think you need to click the Field dropdown in the middle of the first image, and choose PMROLL. That should start you off in the right direction, good luck!

In the first image there is the dropdown called field. This should be set to whatever field you are wanting the information to be stored in for each combobox.
