I receive an "Out of Memory" warning when I try to add a layer in which I created a custom form for in ArcPad Studio. I used the checkin/out process to check out data from a file geodatabase in ArcMap. I then used ArcPad Studio to customize the form. Then I transfer the .axf to my mobile device (Trimble GeoXT 6000 and Trimble Juno T41) where I receive the "Out of Memory" error. The only layer affected is the layer in which I created the custom form for, all other layers work fine. All the layers work fine when I open the .axf on my desktop ArcPad.

I am using ArcPad 10.2 on both desktop and the mobile devices. The file size is 2.8 MB. The GeoXT has Windows Mobile 6.5 with 221.59 MB of memory and . The Juno has Windows Mobile 6.5 with 186.93 MB of memory and an 800 MHz processor.

Are these devices just too small to handle the code associated with creating custom forms or is there a work around?

Figured it out...user error. I inadvertently clicked the script button and did not delete the associated script, so there was an empty script that the system was not able to read. When I deleted that script the shapefile was able to load.

That was exactly my problem as well!  "Out of memory" error message on start-up was caused by an empty *.vbs script.  Glad I found this thread!
