arc pad layers not dispayed

upon checking out data from a personal geodatabase some of the data is not displayed in arcpad 10... for instance, i can check out a point feature such as water hydrants and they work just fine in both arcmap and arcpad, but when i check out fire hydrants they will not appear on the arcpad display, they show up in the layers available for edit.. it is the same for one polygon feature as well... i thought maybe the symbology was the issue but when i change it in arcpad to a simple green circle it still will not display...  it is editable and shows up in the layers under layer properties... i am truly stumped... any help would be appreciated...

Hi Gregory,

I have never seen this behavior in ArcPad before - could you give some more details??

What version of ArcPad are you using?
What device are you running it on?
Are you able to query the missing data (find, identify)?

Thanks,

Hannah

The plot thickens...

The only idea i can come up with without looking at your data would be to check if there is a filter or scale-dependency on your layers. This is assuming that when you create the axf there are no errors or warnings from the ArcPad Data Manager tools and that nothing looks squiffy in your .apm or .axf (use ArcPad Studio to take a closer look).

This is not something you see in ArcPad every day!

If you can contact Esri Support and let them troubleshoot your project, together you may be able to solve this mystery.

I have seen this behaviour in earlier versions of ArcPad and in those cases the reason was a corrupt polygon shapefile (for example a non-closed polygon or a figure 8 polygon).

The point layer that did not show up in the display would show when set to editable, but only then.

I have checked the geometry on both features.. is it possible that certain DB fields can cause this issue?  we use SDSFIE v 2.5 db..... after going over all the field in the polygon ( sidewalks ) and filling in missing data I was able to get them to show up... but still cant get the point feature (fire hydrants) to show up?  can you have bad geometry on a point?  i have looked at them all in arcmap, they all place inside my State boundary....  ???
