Hello,

We're decommissioning our GIS Server, so I need to move our ArcGIS concurrent licenses (and License Manager software) to a new GIS server.    How does a user go about doing that?    I've installed the License Manager on the new GIS server, but how do I portal the license file over to the new location?  Does it involve ESRI directly?

Thank you!
John

Hi @JohnHangen,

You need to deauthorize from the old server and authorize the new server. Please refer to the documentation below.

License manager installation and startup—License Manager Guide | Documentation

Additional information is below.
If you wish to move licenses to a new host machine, for example when retiring a License Manager and standing up a new License Manager on a new host machine, do not use the transfer procedure highlighted in this topic. In this case you must deauthorize licenses back to Esri Customer Service from the machine being retired, and proceed to authorize licenses on the new host directly from Esri Customer Service. For information regarding installation and authorization or upgrading between License Managers, please see the License Manager installation and startup topic.

Transferring licenses from one License Manager to another—License Manager Guide | Documentation

I hope this helps and let me know.

Regards,
Venkat
