Inserted texts from drawing tool is not allowing me to edit the font

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a good weekend.

So I was using the drawing tool to insert texts on a map but the font is not favorable for the purpose of this map. The window for editing the font simply reverts to the original font every time I click "Apply". See screenshot below for additional information.

 Any assistance or advice is appreciated.

So, you actually went into the Change Symbol dialog and changed it there:
