Workforce Location with Ipads

Hello,

Workforce Classic projects are no longer recording workers location history on Ipads, but they are recorded when using an Android device. We noticed the Ipads no longer send any location data for history back to workforce, even though they have in the past. Ipads still update and refresh the working status as well as the last edit time. However, the location history layer does not receive any updates. We just noticed this change this month, August 2020. Any insight would be helpful, havent been able to find many answers on this particular problem.

Hi Matthew,

We haven't made any changes to the iOS release of Workforce classic so I don't think this would be an app issue.  Can you confirm that location tracking is still enabled for the Project?

What release of iOS are you running on the devices?

Location tracking is enabled, it has no problem tracking our android devices. All the Ipads are currently running 13.6.1. They were all updated to the most recent iOS.

Matthew,

Can you try restarting the iOS devices and seeing if that resolves the issue?  We have seen cases with iOS where, following an update, location tracking has stopped working.

No luck with a restart sadly. Still not reporting

Matthew,

When you mention that:

Ipads still update and refresh the working status as well as the last edit time.

Can you confirm that, the worker location is updating?

It is updating and moving as well. But nothing changes in the location layer. So the workers layer can update and get new locations but the location tracking layer does not update or change at all.

Matthew, no, we haven't received any other reports like this - that I'm aware of.

At this point, I believe your best course of action is to contact Technical Support.
