We've been having issues with our notes not saving in Workforce. We discovered a weird possible glitch with how notes are edited and saved. When a user goes to edit or add notes it only saves when the virtual keyboard is minimized but when it's kept up it doesn't save. It sounds so strange but that is what is happening every time our users go to add notes to assignments.

Is this happening to anyone else? @CraigGillgrass any ideas?

@michellekduncan Are you using iOS or Android?  Which version of the Workforce app?  Are you able to provide a video or detailed steps to reproduce this?  I just tried with the latest iOS app for Workforce and Notes are saved.

thanks,

iOS and Version 22.1.1 Build 644

Did you test it with the keyboard up then change the assignment to Pause then try to edit that same point again? Then go through the same steps with the keyboard down?

Thanks,
Michelle

Hello, here are the steps I've tried

  • Click Start on an assignment
  • Tap Notes to add a note, the keyboard appears. Enter some notes.
  • With the keyboard visible, change the assignment to Pause.
    • While Paused, the assignment cannot be edited

Still unable to repro this @michellekduncan - are you using a Phone or an iPad?  What version of iOS?

I just upgraded to iOS 16.2 but it was doing it before the recent upgrade too.

Steps: *all with the keyboard visible - notes are lost

  • Click Start on an assignment
  • Tap Notes to add a note, the keyboard appears. Enter some notes.
  • With the keyboard visible, change the assignment to Pause
  • Click Resume - then click the pencil to edit notes (this is where the notes disappear)

Steps: *now lowering the keyboard- notes are saved

  • Click Start on an assignment
  • Tap Notes to add a note, the keyboard appears. Enter some notes.
  • Lower keyboard, change the assignment to Pause
  • Click Resume - then click the pencil to edit notes (the original notes are there and don't disappear)

@michellekduncan that's it, I can repro this.  We'll take a look at this and see when we can address it.

Did this ever get resolved? I'm seeing an similar issue where notes go missing intermittently.

Hi Josh,

This issue has not yet been resolved. Did you happen to try the steps outlined above (copied in this response for convenience) to avoid this bug? I'll track down an incident # to share here.
